Or do they? Phone rings this morning,

Customer; I'd like a half load of logs please

Me; Certainly

C; Could you deliver tomorrow please, before noon

M; I think I could manage that

C; How much will it be

M; £70

C; And how much will we get

M; Half a load

C; But how much wood will we get, in weight.

I got cut off in mid stride there, this story has'nt finished,

Me; I don't sell by weight, I sell by volume

Cust; Oh whats that?

M; Basically, it's how much space it will take up, you will get approx. a cubic metre.

C; What's that?

M; Well, when it's stacked you should have, roughly, a stack one metre high, one metre wide and one metre deep.

C; Oh I see, (but I could tell from the tone of her voice that she did'nt see). So is that the same as half a load then?

M; Yes

C; I'll just go and have a word with my husband. After what seemed like five minutes she came back on, ok we'll have a cubic metre of logs then.

For the hell of it I almost asked if she was sure she did'nt want half a load but my patience and Mr Smooth voice was wearing thin :001_rolleyes:

noooooo,

becarefull with that one, it only stacks up to 0.7-0.8 of a M3,

they will have you on that.

just say its loose tipped volume would fill an area of your above quote:thumbup1:
