Is this OK for an adjustable cambium saver?

I have a cresto 1 meter cambium saver thats sometimes a bit too long, ie, when working close to your anchor.

 

I already have a pulley on crab instead of the small ring, but recently put on this old hip prussik and crab.

 

Can you guys see anything wrong with using this set-up? It is definately a cheaper alternative than buying a complete new rig!

think prussick cord will damage webbing?

not a fan of crabs inc in a cambium saver as out of sight and had some side load and 1 fail

 

not saying i would not use it

Yeh, sorry the pic is real poor Bob!

 

The tails on the fishermans are about an inch long, but must be on the underside in the photo.

 

As for the crabs, i only set them with gates facing away from the stem.

 

The main concern i have, is about the cord on the webbing, but didnt think about wear Bob, it was more on the purchase it has. Im thinking of the way the prussik naturally works, but the webbing is quite square. Hope that makes sense?

Theres a thought steve. Guess that would get over the risk of gates rubbing and side loading?

Mallions are a good idea, used crabs before but mallions would be better.

try webbing instead of the rope for the prussic cord bro, it might sit a bit neater.

If the prussic will hold Pete, I would have no qualms about using one !

 

A bit like sending a gun to be proofed.
