Me and splicing

I'm kinda setting myself up for a go at taking my weird passion for splicing on a step. here is my very basic site so far it will get updated very soon.

 

My basic aim is to sell tehm to yacht folks first.

Funny was thinking that it would be a good skill to have, did you do a course of any kind how did you come to start splicing.

Like the idea of the rope splicing enterprise, is that a service or are you selling products i.e. ropes spliced to customers spec ??

how did i get into it, bored one day 4 years ago and just started. the only thing i cant do is wire... but i'm working on that.

Just thought i'd post this pic in here of Jamies splices, he helped me in making my own superior, stress free, easier retrieve rope guide.

I managed to cram both ends of the Tenex onto the pulley, I had to remove the ali spacers, there only on there to make a better fit for the ART tape anyway.

 

Its all snug now and perfectly sized (just a little wider than the pulley to make going through the big ring easier).

I only spliced the tenex in that pic. I've been playing around with the whipping more and i've come up with a far superior whiplock to yales instructions. just so you know i use whiplocks as opposed to lock stitches as they are easier to inspect.

Wish I could do that, any idea how it works with LOLER and self spliced ropes?

I need to protect the whipping as it will be coming into contact with bark, i'll have to find my stash of shrink wrap.
