Super Blood Wolf Moon

Anybody see it this morning?

Earlier on in the evening I pointed out to my wife how big the moon looked in the East quite low in the sky.  I just thought that it was either some kind of atmospheric distortion or it was because the line of trees below gave a sense of scale.

I had not seen anything about the eclipse in the media  I did not realise that it was at its closest at the moment, about 225K miles.   250K is the furthest and 240K average.

I woke up at about four thirty am for a P and the bathroom window curtains were open and I thought it strange not to see any moonlight coming in from the West now it had moved 180 degrees.  Then I saw it with just a tiny bit of white in the eleven o'clock position

Dragged my wife out of bed and we watched the complete eclipse at about 5.15 am.

Should have opened the window and howled I suppose!

Yes just happened to wake a couple of times. Saw a partial eclipse at 03.00 ish and full eclipse at 05.20. Normally miss these things here as clear skies are a rarity down this way.

The media do over hype these things though and this made me laugh

The only difference I can see is there is a 1 in front of the 9 in the left pic !
