Pretty common on Sugi bars, I’ve done 4-5 nose sprockets now.
At least you can replace them... I would not buy any more bars though because of the sprocket brittleness issue though.

Only ever had that problem once, told RobD and he sent new parts straight away.

Instructions when new was to lubricate it but that was the problem, grit from the tree stuck in the oil and jammed it up. Since replacing the nose sprocket I've not bothered to oil and have had no problems now for over 5 years.

Never mind zimmer frame,, just thinking with the way i am at the moment, is there enough to make coffin ? i might heed one yet,,,,,

Odd innit. Its obvs to lube a bearing an under huge loads like milling, you would think its so- an then you find different!  Never seems to matter in my run of bars, k
