metal detector are worth the time, any help in preventing sawing metal, yes you have to get used to signal from saw bench, have to sweep over each cut to get best result can be time consuming, 5 nails in last trunk cut!

''brown oak is bloody expensive ''   can I ask how much per cu ft ?  thanks

A bit of milling from the weekend.

Large piece of Oak approximately 3.5m in length.

Managed to find an 8-10mm bolt or rod of steel at the stump end [emoji849] manage to snap 7 teeth off the hyper skip chain.

Awesome work H,
Fantastic grain in those.
How's the logosol wide slabber doing?
Looks a really clean cut[emoji106]

Thanks!

Yeh it’s a great bit of kit, easy to use with the hand winch/crank.

After the teeth snapped on the hyper skip I swapped it over to the full skip which gave a cleaner cut.

Yes I would say so, but then again I have only milled with this set up for oversize logs so hard to compare with other set ups.

We went for the 84 inch which makes changing the chain and moving the saw rig back to the start of the mill easier with two men.

To set the jig up on a log is easily achievable with one man and is a quick process.
