I've been doing loads like that but pieces half the width 5 inchs or less for £100, though most of it is a wee bit damp, air / water dried lately infact. Only takes me two hrs with the splitter so I thought that was an ok price. But then people down here are tighter than a duck's backside.

There is someone around here doing Transit loads at £100, just cant compete with that. I cant see how he is making anything with that price. Hope his wood is crap and more people come to me

A few years ago, when I was more into firewood a level transit load was £140 delivered locally.

 

Does anyone think we should be more consistent as an industry on firewood prices? Prices for that load have ranged from £100 to £240.

A lot depends on quality though Doug my wood is pretty crap mixed loads, not barn dried for two years, I live in one of the dampest places in England. If it was better i'd charge £150 a load.

£130-£140, mind you It will be very wet by the time you get the transit towed out!

 

 

A couple of years after the 87 hurricane we was in and out of the woods three times a day splitting fallen Beech and getting stuck six times a day.

Always got out under our own steam though.

£150 Is about spot on . I must be stupid me and Mistahben off here have just taken down 3 Ash trees and numerous others . And I gave all the timber to the customers neighbour for a bottle of wine . Ah well at least we didnt have to shift it off site .

Andy, we need to talk. Next time you take some ash trees out give me a call.I'd gladly make you a csh offer for the wood........or a crate of wine?

Back to the thread, I would have said £160.00

 

Have just told all my customers that my loads are going up to £80.00 a cube as from 1st of January 2010. No-one has complained!!

There is a guy down at Gweek area who is selling green hemlock and spruce in one of those single axled unbraked ifor trailers for £80 a load.......yes, i said £80!!!:thumbdown:The trailer is about 5'x5'x1'deep.

 

We should all put our prices up if thats the score!

2 cu metre £145, may put it up if weather turns cold and the dole spongers run out. What does your bed measure putting a heap on can increase the amount of wood by 15-20%. Looks nice but costs money. I set my bodies just under and heap the load.
