Caucasian Elm

So here's some shots of the Caucasian Elm down the road. There are actually quite a few. I'm fascinated by these trees.

 

 

With regards the bio mechanics......as you can see MonkeyD as you suggested there are plenty of natural grafts going on. I'm so looking forward to getting up there and photographing some of these grafts at close quarters.

is this the zelkova down by dulwich college?

 

 

Thats a great tree isnt it? The one on the south crcular opposite the college.....hell of a lean to it! No this one is in Halliford near Sunbury. Thjere are about 20 in all..

yeah thats just what i was thinking, i heard there was talk of it being taken down because of the lean, but haven't heard any further, but imagine if it was taken down, you would have to get a road closure on the south circular! there is also a really nice one at capel manor college, really tight crown.
