Cutting high hedges

You need a good pair of tripod ladders, I have the Japanese ones..   bought em from Seddons a few years back.. they're one of those things you look at and fancy getting for a few years and think, balls to it I've managed up to now I'll manage again..  Then when you get em you wonder why you didn't buy em years earlier..  I also like to take a small pair of stepladders for the hedges that are just a little to high when I'm on foot..

At a pinch I tie a single ladder onto the tripod ladders if I need an extra couple of ft of height..

For the odd job I use a scaffold tower which although is useful is a pain in the arse to move about..

I've done the ladder crossed with a plank and you can't get a good clean line..  and the customers ladders which never seemed to end well..  wobbling about, leading to spending more time shitting yourself than actually cutting the edge..
