The tungsten chain isn’t all it’s fracked up to be.  It dulls quicker than you’d think and can’t be sharpened on site very easily.  Better off just pricing a couple new chains into the job and allowing sharpening time

Get as good stump grinder guy in and turn it into soil and dust.

Nice idea but the trunk is right next to the house and the side you would get to it from has no access for a decent grinder unfortunately

Yeah the more I look in to it the more I realise you are right Steve. I have a handful of chains that I will make sure are ready for the job in a couple of weeks and just hope I don’t find any old relics within the stump. I’ll get pictures.

clean all the crap off with a small axe then use a smaller bar if you want.... 18-20" and cut from both sides.


I don’t know if an axe would cut it (excuse the pun) but an airline might just give me a better chance.
