Preservatives for fresh felled wood

Wind destroyed my temp log drying tarp so wanna quickly build a more substantial drying shed from fresh milled spruce. Any preservative recommendations or just build and let dry before protecting?

Cant beat Creosote IMO

I’m not trade though so is the substitute any good on wet wood?

I used creocote a while ago on a log store. Sold the house a year or so later so can't check on the store's condition, but the creocote seemed watery and weak when I put it on. Proper creosote much better.

That wasn't on wet wood, I'd imagine it would be worse on wet wood which is moist anyway?

Never been asked for any credentials when buying the proper stuff.

 

No idea what it would be like on wet wood but would suggest it will still be better than anything else you can get

Keep the frame off the ground and have a good overhang on the roof, you could make the walls from cardboard/green timber then.

I've been using ecosote for a few years now. Seems good as everything I have used it on is still looking souns. As it penetrates rather than seals the wood it might be good on green wood as it will let it dry whilst still protecting it from rot and critters (though wasps still seem to chew it).
