Stovax launches Yeoman CL5 widescreen stove - is widescreen the way ahead?

While we currently await further information and images, the Yeoman CL5 widescreen stove is coming to a stove retailer near you very soon!

 

As some people will know, the Yeoman brand is owned by Stovax which recent introduced a widescreen Hamlet 5 stove. There seems to be a trend towards widescreen viewing areas with particular focus on the 5kW stove market. Is this the way forward?

Hamlet are an Arada brand not Stovax.    The Hamlet widescreen has a glass 50% smaller then the Ecoburn but its a lower price.   Been there done the maths,  the guy went away with the Ecoburn.

 

Certainly widescreen 5kw stoves have destroyed sales for 5.1kw to 7.5 kw models especially as many of the latter need to be flued using 150mm systems and needing air vents.   Given that responsible sellers dont sell them for use in a 3 kw room then they do sell well.

Just looked back at my post, yes Hamlet is an Arada brand

 

While we have seen the likes of the Firefox hit the lower end of the market, Hamlet still remains the go to cheaper stove from our experience.

Hamlet stoves remind me a little of the older Hunter stoves, especially the vent holes, but are more modern / sleeker looking

Once you explain that Firefox and the like are imported probably from the far east or eastern Europe most people ( ladies especially) want to buy a British made product.  For every Hamlet I sell 100 Aarrow/Villager ( Arada) stoves.

Widescreens are great as they can take longer logs and give out loads of aesthetic flames!

Smaller stoves burnt hot give out a shit load of heat and require less cleaning. Better for the atmosphere too!

Disagree . Wide glass stoves aren't  necessarily bigger for a given out put . They just have a wider glass . Mine is a double glased window keeping more heat in the fire box promoting a cleaner burn so better for the atmosphere as you put it less cleaning than an older stove and puts out a " shed load " of heat . Nominally 5KW but actually 8KW .

I see Stovax are just about to launch a new View 5 stove with widescreen - looks like this is a growing trend and one which is probably here to stay.

Not surprised .   Big glass looks way better  .
