3A knee ascender

Hi,anyone tried the 3A knee ascender and what are the thoughts?

At first looks like very efficient.

Looks exactly like one I made myself for £20

(Ok, I had everything bar the chest ascender and bungee cord already)

Yeah i have one, works pretty good, takes some time setting the length of the elastics up to allow full step range. locks into the rope with a sprung cam and can catch it on the body to hold open too.
it’s no Haas but good for the money

I have one, and a friend has the haas.  The haas is far superior, and costs more money.  Haas is worth the extra if you're not on a budget.  If you have an old croll kicking around you can basically knock a stein equivelent up for the cost of a piece of bungy and webbing.

That was my fault.  I googled it and that was the first thing that came up ?

 

Looks pretty neat that it stays in place without getting in the way like the haas

I use a ct foot ascender as a knee one. Just undo the section of webbing that goes under your foot, put a tool clip on it and hook to a foot loop, put some padding on the back (I still need to do this) and put it on round your knee, all for around £30.

 

been using this for a couple of years, with a foot ascender on the other foot.

 

The one shown with the fixed link between foot and the ascender looks bulky and will get in the way in the tree.
