Chipper major mechanical failure, warrant???

Hi, has anyone ever had a chipper decide it want to rip itself in to pieces for no obviously reason?

My chipper went with a huge bang today and ripped a massive hole in the side of machine throwing a large chunk of metal towards an operator! leaving a mangled mess where the bell housing is. The machine is approximately 2 1/2 years old and was only chipping smallish diameter brash and it just exploded without warning.

Machine is currently at my dealer waiting for manufacture to have a look at it, but what to know where I stand as machine looks totally trashed. Machine should still be under warranty, but has anyone ever had something similar happen and what was the outcome with warranty?

Regards Simon
