Cheers. I’ve just spent 5 minutes trying to think of a false clever reason why I cut the stump so high.
The honest answer is I’m milling 8ft sections on a Logosol and I can’t lift anything much wideremoji30.png

Carve a nice seat , mate, k

Who’s TCD?

TCD = Timber Cutter Dartmoor

A former AT resident fuels and oils expert, forestry boffin and all round good egg with a sharp wit and a sharper temper!

His primary bête noire was stump height with hinge properties as a close second.

Following what rapidly descended into a fairly 'frank and honest' exchange of opinions surrounding the quality of teaching at Arb/Forestry colleges, and the resultant quality of the students produced, he dramatically parted company with the AT massive and left a noticeable gap in a number of areas to which he was an honest, straight forward, expert and comical contributor....

Like so many before him, taken before his time, gone but not forgotten....

Was only having a chuckle....

I found many of his posts to be deeply knowledgeable and often entertaining - life's too short to be all wrapped around the axle.

I spent a few minutes trying to find the thread but gave up because I couldn't recall any effective search words which didn't return 500 pages to sift through to find the right one...

He was quite SHOUTY, I think he may have taken the chance to lower his blood pressure a little.  Knew/knows his stuff, no doubt,  when it came to forestry.  Possibly shouldn't have got too involved in political threads.

I miss TCD.

Amongst a sea of prima donnas and wannabees, he offered an alternative (if not always welcome opinion).
