seen as thoo that winch and crane is in really good working condition might as well use that :) we have done a lot of jobs where it would be handy to have this machine on site, but as you can see its not really somthing that wants to move tooo far from our yard, so we're just gunna mount that on a slightly more modern truck that we could get pretty cheap :thumbup1:

Looks good Peter. I have been saying crane truck to my boss allot over the last 8 months in the hope he would buy one. He bought a Valtra and a 10 ton silage trailer so now im just saying crane to him allot. I think ultimately the tractor will be better for us. I Think your Rig looks really useful. Do you have a large capacity chip truck to go with it?

No, I mostly sub in to other companies with it. Can you not get a crane on the Valtra or the trailer?

Great set of pics- looking good. Bet that was an enjoyable project to get stuck into.:thumbup1:

Yeah, it was good fun, and a good learning curve for me. I can thoroughly recommend Ed's Cut & Shut Truck Building Service.

With regard to the 4wd trucks, they are great but will still get stuck in soft ground. It doesnt matter how many wheels are driven if they are all up to the axles in mud, and with 18 tonnes distributed on 4 wheels it doesnt take much. On the other hand my truck has a diff lock, so its not too shy on the rough stuff.
