I have some Lime trees that i have re-pollarded a few times now, they get done every couple of years, about 3ft DBH all the way to the top pretty much and 25-30ft tall.....i normally use a ladder and strop where possible which i dont like doing but find it easiest.....What would you lads say is the safest/easiest method for such trees......oh and no i dont wanna use a MEWP!! Thanks

just climb to the top, get main anchor point, and go to the bottom and start pollarding, all the way to the top, simples :)

an anchor point on what joe??? the stems are too thin to tie into...and its a straight stem with a wider ball type top....old pollards

joe, you done many lime trees that have had sevral prevouse pollards :sneaky2: husky if that way works use it, ty the ladder in @ the bottom ,but you knew that didnt you :laugh1:

yeah thats true wood picker, i'm fortunate to not do many 'street tree' type trees like pollarded limes :), could you not make a false anchor point ?

Can't you make yourself a false ancor point out of rope and climb off that (if you know what i mean), I do :001_smile:

 

Yeah this works, but this doesnt really help for the top...ok it would stop a bad fall but you cant really work from it at the top
