knee ascender

Here is my DIY version. Cheap ebay ascender + tripled bungee + an adjustable foot loop. Works good but surely would work better with a higher quality ascender. Bungee durability could be an issue, but this build has survived more than 10 climbs. I've though of adding some small pulleys to reduce wear and increase responsiveness; not sure if it would help...

I use dyneema for the lot. The foot loop can be added. If your interested in testing a few ideas I have I’d appreciate it. I’m looking for a busy climber to put a few through some grief.

Looks good. Just after a croll or similar and I'll be making one of these also. You make your foot loop as well or just buy one?

i made a seperate footloop from tough webbing and elastic sewn together with strong fishing braid, it works a treat but took me a whole evenning of sewing on the sofa! so afterwards i wondered whether it was worth the effort or not?
