Makita recall

Anyone know anything about a recall on makita 6100 and 7900 saws? Dealer close to me mentioned he had to send some back, some he had sold and a couple of new ones off the shelf. He couldn't remember exactly what it was for, but thought it was brake related.

It’s the 1st I’ve heard about this and I’ve sold lots of these models

In Dolmar and makita I will find out on Monday morning and post the exact findings from Makita U.K. and Dolmar D.E once I have the full

story and what everyone has too do with there equipment

when things like this come up for me it’s a duty as someone who has promoted these products too see this through and get the full story

after all Arbtalk is what got me set up and started in this game

It looks like it’s the larger series saws the 6400 included the 6100 is a totally different saw

Balls. Not long bought a second hand 7900

Don’t worry Bill this sounds like a national thing so it should go too your nearest makita dealer  also I’ve been slacking on those big spikes

From what I have seen, they pull pretty hard and are made reasonably well so don't feel too bad. There is a hinged link in the brake mechanism, a bit like the MS200 one and reckon that is why the recall - have seen a few that are a bit dodgy.
