My mate has just done a similar thing. He was told no climbing for 3 months.
6 weeks immobile then gradually introducing gentle movements increasing in intensity along with physiotherapy

Great but we do silly things.

The specialist told him that in the event of it not working (due to doing silly things) he would have to have some tendon removed from his leg and grafted in right up his arm, meaning he’d be out of action for a long time.
Think the warning is working as the alternative sounds a bit bleak.

Did one on knuckle of middle finger 9 yrs ago and took 16 wks before i could use it properley and in january this year did my little finger but decided not to have it repaired cos i was too busy so now have a straight finger from the middle joint which is a bit of a pain in the ass to be honest

Same timescales I had when I partially severed my thumb tendon. Tendons take longer to heal than bone and very important to heal correctly

Update.

Went in yesterday at 11.00 and got it repaired at 1.00 this morning, 2 emergencies held things up as well as bad management of theatre.

3 months before full back to work.

Thanks for all advice.
