I'm looking for a kindling making machine like the old Espo dual blade cutter.  I've got an old Land Rover with a rear drum PTO, having this power the kinding machine via a belt would be a great show piece.  I've been doing some reading and googling for said machine, it sounds like they're a rare beast to find, does anyone have one for sale?  Are their similar alternatives I could look for?  Many thanks.  Chris

It's an ESCO, Ernest Simpson company,

Bradford.

Was once told they were made in the train yards, kindling for steam trains.

I've got one, but not for sale

They pop up on eBay from time to time,

There's one or two different variations and makes

On a related note, a primary school friend used to help his father  after school cutting kindling from orange crates, by hand, they had a small lever device which the stiks were laid in and then compressed so they could be banded with string or wire at both ends and sold as pimps. His sister burned the device when she moved into the family home but I recovered the metalwork from the ashes and I think he still has it.
