as above, whos using what and where do you get them, just got a black diamond half dome and im looking for ear plugs to compliment it

 

3M make a good disposable uncorded earplug, get them from a workwear place in Glasgow but found this dealer whose doing them at a better price.

I'm trialling out a pair of custom made earplugs just now - I've had them for a few weeks (I should point out at this point that I'm using them mainly on the motorbike, but the filters can be made to suit any kind of noise level).

 

They take a bit of getting used to - and because my helmet's quite a tight fit (behave at the back!) they sometimes dig in and feel a bit weird.

 

But - when I've used them without my bike helmet on they're brilliant, far better noise protection than disposables and a lot more comfortable.

I think earplugs are a very personal, subjective thing - kinda like saddle preference. What works for one person might not work for another. The only plugs that work for me are the soft, white ones. None of the others work or fit right for me.

I bought these.

Oxford Moldex Spark Plug 100 Ear Plugs, 50 Packs on eBay (end time 22-Dec-09 14:30:58 GMT)

They were mainly for riding my bike and are pretty good and comfy. Each pair come in little sealed packets so i can chuck a handful in my kit bag and they dont get flithy.

For those who use ear plugs, do you use some that are attached together via a "cord"?

 

If you just use plugs as they are, do they fall out or get flicked out?

Custom fitted ear plugs from Ultimate Ear Protection. Not cheap but I have found nothing better, both on the bike and in the tree

i got some moulded ear plugs and they are super comfy. also come in handy at home, we have a jack russell pup so they help me sleep at night when it howls.. oh how it howls.

ive got the tied together ones but i tie them to my helmet so that they dont get dropped.

These are the best ones ive had as well!

 

Ive got odd ears and have to put them in wide end first.

Roll them thin IN the packet rather than with your mucky fingers.
