In a soft field you'll still get stuck, just deeper and further away from anything to recover with. Well thats how it happens for me.! Especially when loaded, or when returning back having thought oooh that's a bit soft on the outward journey .

Loved using 785,885 and a gorgeous six pot 956. All really well mannered on road both in steering and gears.

I think I'd have more chance of getting out with 4wd though. Love my tractor but it's limited

You would but it still depends on ground conditions. 

 

Ive just dragged my fully loaded 16’ grain trailer full of beech through a few fields today! Shame job couldn’t have waited for nicer weather for ground to dry up a bit! Few ruts left lol

I know it's not going to go everywhere but at least with front wheels driving I could try and turn towards a drier patch. Haven't seen it that wet up there before, mind. I've towed a horse trailer up with my Jimny over that exact ground without leaving ruts

I love my Same Dorado 86. I reckon it probably has the best power to weight of any tractor I know off. At 3.2 ton and in wide tyres it floats over soft Peat I’m on. (Unless you’ve got TCD driving it!!)

Case 956 is a lovely lovely tractor too- ultra sweet gearbox and engine equality so- just purrs. But it’d definitely sink quicker than my Same.

When serving my time back in the day I did l loads of IH 885s and 674 with porous liners as homers! It was mostly down to poor coolant quality

My Same moving boulders, for a small tractor they don’t half pull
