AHS Large capacity mobile crane/chipper in action! only £450K!!

Here are a few pics of the latest AHS large capacity chipper in action, newly imported from Germany, I beleive it's the first one in the country.

 

Costs around £450,000, and folds away and drives off site each day, loads more mobile than the usual truck towing chipper, with pick up to drive home in!

 

Awesome bit of kit with a top gun style hot seat! This was the machines first job on site, the operator was a wee bit scared dropping timber onto the shiny bits! note a wedged conifer log down to the side of the conveyor belt!

 

Apparently registered as an agric. vehicle can run on cherry, and be driven at 16, i believe!!

 

Not sure about the limits of timber it can chip, but its got 21 blades! would love to do a blade change on that bad boy!

Not sure what to make of that, its seems very over priced for what it is.

 

Still an impressive bit of kit though... just cuz its big and shiny!

Jenz 561 chipper, bag of crap. Not sure who told you the price, factory list with all options is £360K

 

Your right about the manouverability though, definately the way forward.

I've a lot of experience of using the 560 series. Over complicated, poor quality chip, silly fragile blades, very low hp / output ratio, VERY expensive.

Depends what you want to do though doesn't it. If you need to get in and out ASAP it can be the quickest option.

 

It also means that you can clear fell, use and excavator to load large skips, then process it elsewhere if you need to. Trying to sort out the mess afterwards into firewood is never fun!!
