You can just move the tail over to the other side of the crab. Better than a f8 as no twist too. Reduces the load plenty to make the hitch work correctly. 

As Steve said, similar to the system Kevin Bingham was using before the wrench but no extra hardware required.

Fairly sure you’ll be wanting to put the friction above the hitch. I have seen a set up with an o ring above the hitch, with a short tether connected to the hitch climber. And run the rope through the same way as you have here.
