No, I think I’d cut rings, crane 3 or 4 in and then split the lot at once. The question is will it handle knotty stuff into 28 pieces? It’s an 80ton push so it should be pretty good but i bet I’d you get a bit stuck it’s a mission to get it out.

That looks a helluva machine Tom for what it’s worth I’ve got a vertical tractor mounted Rabaud splitter had it for 20 years it’s been faultless built so strong it’ll split everything

but not In the same league as this big boy

i wonder if you could put rows of smaller logs in there like 30 or 40 at a time or have you got a large supply of oversized material

and have a loader and large bucket  on the end too catch the logs

A friend has the bindenburger version which is quite a beast but only got a 16 way knife and using it for big rings definitely is efficient with a smaller splitter sat next to it picking up any slightly too bigger logs.
Getting stuff stuck isn't too bad because you can get at the knife back with a decent sledge hammer and knock anything back into the chamber quit easy, if you were doing billets I think it would be a bit bigger problem.
One tip is do not stand in front of it as logs can get fired out at a rediculous speed when the pressure builds up!

There is a version which has a conveyor, but it’s a lot of money. We have lots of oversized stuff to do, we currently use a posch 30 ton 4 way splitter to split billets and these we put through the processor. It’s pretty slow and a lot of double handling. I’d prefer to ring it up with the 66, maybe even buy an 88 and just push them through that sieve.
