I am assuming you mean Chusan palm ......it is not really a "wood" but grass , however look up Dewey Garret an American turner who makes some interesting things with it , sandblasted to highlight the structure of the material ......

As I've read that some seeds may take up to a year to germinate, it would probably be a waste of time you bothering planting any :001_tt2::D

That's probably because I got the name wrong.:banghead:  It's Chusan Palm, Chinese windmill palm, Trachycarpus fortunei 

 

I know that I've never had any before, so thought that someone might like an opportunity to try to turn something out of it - just for the experience. I still haven't measured it but it's nearer six in diameter on average than eight. It don't look much from the photos but it's odd stuff.

 

I'm not after beer tokens but would like to see some photos of any results, out of interest.
