You can actually Will. They come with instructions to drill out two pre-marked holes on the inside of the clutch cover. emoji106.png

You don't have to drill anything . As I said above I have inner and outer spikes on my 560 . It was a Jonsered part No for their equivalent saw .

Cheers Jon I'll have a look. Got a 560xpg it's a few years old but double dogs would make it much better

I had to drill mine.

The reason you are drilling  the cover is because a 562 mounting holes are farther apart than a 560 ( I think to accommodate the 3/8th rim ) and you are fitting a 562 dawg , but ,  you can get outer dawgs for  560 that fit its excising mounting holes  holes . It is a Jonsered part No but I cant remember what it is .

I’ll post a picture when I am back at the barn. I think the issue is that different versions of the same saw have slightly different specs. My clutch cover had no holes at all but did have marks where you could drill and I am assuming Will’s is the same. The dogs even came with instructions for drilling.

Ah . The depression for the retaining nuts are cast into the cover they  just need the flash drilling out ?

Where's the best place to go for some bigger ones for a Stihl 461 ? Will I have to order off ebay to get them from America or is there a place to just go buy

Thanks

I phoned stihl GB, to get some for mine.
It depends on your side cover.
Both times I've bought dogs they don't fit.
If you find some and they fit, post where you get them.
