Ill get some pictures on the go once theres some paint on, were still in workshop mode but hopefully be ready for Monday [emoji51]

One day i may feel the need to modernise but I'm working on the theory that if i keep running old gear at some point i can charge people to watch as some sort of classic working demonstration [emoji23]

Having a closer look at picture it still have height chains  fitted, the skids are worn like a lot for others I have seen easy repaired thou.

When using fit a chain top link so you do not bend rear wheel or even bend it in half.

Hi 

I have an old wolsely chain swipe and the gearbox has collapsed so in need of a new one, any ideas where I can get one please ?

Were are you based, as I know were there's 2 complete swipes in good condition.

It's probably a Comar gearbox, best having a look for a small metal plate with details of it's ratios.

Think you will find they made there own, are they are not like any other gearbox,

You're probably right if it predates both of us combined!.

 

Time for an upgrade, they aren't that expensive new. I loved my UK made KIDD topper before I swapped it for a flail.
