What annoys is introducing themselves as ex forces like it entitles em to some respect..   yea, well I'll respect someone when I feel they've earned it..   being in the forces might be nothing more than sweeping floors..

Why do you assume they are fishing for respect ?  If that's were they last worked  its were they last worked .  Simple as that .  You are so anti just for the sake of it .

No problem, we're always happy to help....

Just out of curiosity, and to settle any dispute..  why did you point out you were coming from the services?..  now be honest, no ones gonna bite you if you felt it might give you a bit of a thumbs up...

And to be honest with you, I wasn't having a go at you in particular, just the general idea of ex service personal making a thing of it..

And why I'm on the subject I was doin a tree the other day, and managed to pull my back out moving the logs out the way..  its put me in a fowl mood and I wonder why anyone wants to do any sort of tree work if it involves two days stooped over afterwards...

perhaps its why I tried to point out you might not really like it..  its harder than you think it is..

Well - Obvs Martin , dont lift like that then ! Pfanner Gladiators you might find a bit stiff but they are astonishingly durable against thorn . I find cutting a big log in half reduces strain , and learning proper saw sharpening WILL be yr biggest hurdle ! Its a craft , but well worth the effort . Thats my two penneth mate - all the best in yr new career :) K
