by the time you take into account all the manual handling i bet you'd make less by splitting it. i stopped doing firewood 4 years ago. its only good for 1 thing and thats getting a bad back.

I knocked out £540 worth of firewood today with the help of one member of staff. Time I've paid wages, fuel, etc, I'm left with well over £400 profit + what ever my other three members of staff have made in the day.

Firewood is a ver good little earner - if organized correctly.

Buying the right dimensioned timber saves a lot of grief.

Hers my way-

can i ask why you dont park the machine nearer the timber stack to save the carrying??

I set it up right next to the stack, they were the last few pieces.

if i were you i'd be doing firewood full time. since tree surgeons in your area are getting between £200 - £300 per day for 2 men plus truck and chipper - it's all people are willing to pay!

You need to do the tree work to get the timber; and there isn't enough demand for 6 loads of firewood everyday in this area.
