What gets me is that most people don't even slow down when they drive past you, no matter how many signs or cones you put out, or how restricted the road is when your working on it with truck, chipper etc.

Haha- that'll NEVER change- except it could get worse......wait till they start driving over the cones and hurling abuse at you as they drive past coz you have inconvenienced them for nearly a whole 30secs of their petty lives.....

Last week i had closed 2 roads around 2 sides of a park cause we were straigthfelling big birches onto one of the roads. For safety we had closed the adjoining road to direct the traffic around the park and put up proper signage and blocked half the road with a metal "gate" and cones on the other side (for easy access for emergency services if needed) 13een cars used the lawn and the footpath to pass the closure i stopped and yelled at four of them! They all said that i was using inadequate signage and not proper closure!?!?:confused1:

A sign with

"WARNING

Mines ahead

would have been useful!
