Tree ID please?

Can someone give me an idea as to what this one is please?

I only ground the stump out and never saw the tree, but the customer would like to replace it with another and sent me some pictures!

Platycladus orientalis. I'm not sure what the English name is... It used to be a Thuja until it was moved into a different genus a few years ago.

I - literally - can't recognise the majority of my family, but obscure trees? Oh, no problem there. It does help that I've got a dirt big example at the side of our driveway that I have to avoid every day.

I think the common name is Chinese Thuja or Chinese Arborvitae.

Ok, so it just happened!

The only one the chap can find grows to only 1m tall! I'm pretty sure this is the dwarf version.

Where can he buy a full size one from?

I've googled it myself with no success.

Try Barham trees they have a good website to help you see what you are buying but also a phone call to them will get something sorted even if it's just information.

Janey would be quite happy to let you have HER one in its entirety. I'm not sure that my landlord would be quite so happy about it mind you.
