only the very end of it, used rope is always a pain to get through

what are you using? ie wire fid?

 

Yes Jon wire fid, I'm going to attempt it again with a taper spoke to tommy and he's gave me some tips so hopefully I will get one nailed tomorrow. Oh tommy that is nice.

Good work on the splicing Joe, The throat looks a tiny bit bunched on the velocity, but its always pretty hard with used rope:thumbup1:

Thanks Ben I'm totally hooked got myself some Sirius today to play with.got to say if it wasn't for all tommyb tips I wouldn't have done it.

You pick up little tricks the more you do it.. Apparently a rubber mallet helps a lot with used rope. Helps flatten the fibres or something?? Onelab is pretty hot on his splicing and explained it to me. It made sense at the time but I can't recall now.
