Well other than eating, drinking and modern warfare2 ive managed to do a few more splices.

The scorch was lovely to splice and is by far the easiest 16strand ive done. Im getting alot better at the double braid now...i think:001_tongue:. Not very impressed with my bee line attempt but practice makes perfect! haha.

Cant wait to get back to work and start making some whoopies and loopies. Oh yeah and hopefully a new rope guide:thumbup1:.

If anyone else has some splices they've done then feel free to get your pics up:thumbup:

Lookin good

The VT is a cracking hitch when you get it set just right:001_smile:.

Im like a magpie when it comes to shiny gear,i want it even if i have no idea what to do with it:001_tongue:

What rope are you running cinch on again? I use mammut supersafe on mine and it runs really sweet!

Its a Marlow static line 10mm black . Its been used for indoor climbing every so many hours they have to change it . I nearly always get first refusal . Trouble is Ive got **** loads of rope now . Yeah the magpie thing Ive got loads of shiny bits now . Not sure which ones I like best :confused1: or how they work  I do love the cinch tho .

As long as you can hang them off your harness it dont matter how they work:001_tongue:

Well if you need to get rid of some rope you can alwys send it my way! haha. I keep tryin different ropes in my cinch and the mammuts the best ive tried so far.

To be fair the 10mm static Ive got seems a bit lumpy just over the sheath .

Was thinking about 10/11mm dynamic . Like rock climbing top rope or similar ?

Is the cinch designed to be used with dynamic ?. I,m thinking about the kinda rope in one of the vids that rich rule put up of Sherbrooke tree services . His rope looks like rock climbing dynamic stuff . All that gear hanging off the harness sounds cool when its clinking about

yhe cinch actually works best with dynamic rope imo, ive been using beal wallmaster, though i must admit ive just gone back to my art positioner with 10m of tachyon in a bag

Cheers john . Thats more stuff to buy . Do you or have you ever choked off and used the cinch to descend from a pole . Found any other cool uses . Oh still waiting on the log cabin photos .

What harness you on .

Any particular reason you've gone back to the positioner mate? Ive never tried the positioner so cant really compare. I do love the cinch though and like john says it works great on dynamic ropes.

I was talking to Nod who was sayin that there was a fair bit of testing done on which ropes to use with the cinch. The mammut supersafe was the best apparently?
