Some great stuff in this thread!

Marlow 8mm eye to eye, I can see this taking over my life now.

Looking good, nice stitching.

Probably just the pic but those eyes look super tight/small

keep up the good work!

Nice work mate, that marlow stuff is lovely to learn on isn't it?

Only problem is it tends to milk quite alot?

Keep up the good work :-)

Yeah it was really easy to splice, I have some boa to try now. I want to construct a rope guide but not sure what rope would be best, I'm guessing any standard climbing line, but would stable braid or tenex be suitable? (I hear they are particularly easy to splice)

The best rope to use for a ropeguide is any 16-strand rope mate. I prefer to use yale XTC my self. I suppose you could use tenex and it'd be fine. The only problem i can see is when it comes to retreival. If any of the strands got caught as it falls to earth it could pull them out? Other than that though tenex would be fine. Oh yeah it's very easy to splice. Just knock a few loopies or woopies up and use them for re-directs or something?

Cheers I never thought of that. I'll just order some XTC and make one out of that. Any tips for the 16-strand eye splice?

Pop some wire inside the eye to keep it open enough for retrieval. I'm sure Hadleigh will correct me if I'm wrong but I think he uses 5mm with coated ends.
