Going back to the advantages of pricier strides - nobody mentioned weight, I believe. Lightest I used were SIP Innovation type A (blagged from an old employer who was going to bin them), hardly heavier than jeans when dry. A lot of cheaper trousers give you fatigue in the summer in no time due to the weight

If your were full time ground work and could afford it id recommend pfanners but there gettin to such a stupid price now even i wouldnt conscider them.

Stihl do an economy trouser pretty cheap but ive no idea if theyre good or not.Stick with what you know

 

I wear these. Work got them for me and they're absolutely fine. no nonsense chainsaw trousers; they do exactly what you need them to. comfy with plenty of manoeuvrability when cutting. They get hot, but then they're chainsaw trousers, so you'd expect them to! Decent number of pockets without going overboard and you can attach braces to them, should you feel the need. If I was cutting day in, day out, I would probably get something with a bit more fit to them as they are a bit shapeless, especially round the knees, but other than that, they're not too bad at all, especially for the price. Worth having a look at

For the money I don’t think you can go far wrong with Yukon’s, I wear type A yukons and they are one of the few ‘budget’ trousers that don’t make you feel like your wearing a duvet wrapped round your legs.

I've just bought some type C Yukons and am pretty happy with them. They're very soft, which I thought would make them drag but they're actually fine. The £150 type C Stihls I tried (I assume they're the economy model) were tougher material but didn't fit me. Too high in the crotch and/or too low in the waist.
