Chapter 8 course signs/traffic management

Where can I do this course? It seems a little vague on exactly what course I need to take to be able to shut a section of road way off with stop and go boards.

Any info would be much appreciated

What i know of chapter 8. There are 2 courses one for supervisors and one for operator's. Could be worth a check with your insurer. As at the end of the day they are there when the **** hits the fan.

We did it with https://www.citrustraining.co.uk/.

It took one day the lads did the operator and the managers the supervisor, both at the same time in the same classroom..

A more boring day I cannot remember....

Depends on which type of road as there are 2 routes to this. If you want to work on a Highways agency owned road you need to do lantra sector scheme, if its local authority its streetworks course ( many A roads are HA even though youd assume they would be LA)

New Roads & Street Works, Signing, Lighting and Guarding (Unit 2 & 10)

Check with your local highways as they might do street works training my local council does Derbyshire it only lasts for 3 years as well I did my first coarse at Sheffield construction college as ben Edmonds has said you would only need the signing lighting and guarding section as the rest of the coarse covers excavation backfilling and reinstatement of the highway. If its something you will need on a regular basis then go for it but I would check with some of the traffic management companies how much they charge per day for such work there seems to be a lot more companies doing it now so prices may have come down
