Hi Guys/Gals.

I'm just in the process of starting my Arb courses.  What would be an advisable Chainsaw for my initial chainsaw course?

Obviously i'll be using this for training and work after also.

Thanks peeps

Mel

Perhaps someone on here has a decent MS260 or 346XP and wants to sell it. I would avoid eBay as you are very likely to get a saw with a Chinese top end.

I would avoid the MS261 as most seem to have clutch drum issues and it is very possible you will buy one with a shot crank.

The are a few ok dealers on eBay. Potentially harry the cat ( has he been on here?)

But generally agree with spud.

I have a ms200 backhandle for sale and a ea5000 Makita ( on its first bar) if either will float yet boat

How about a Dolmar 420 ? Pro build & a real ripper, Shavey on here is your man.

Not worth buying cheap as you'll end up buying twice & I'd be very careful with anything from Ebay.

Have bought quite a few saws off eBay.
All were problematic.
Great for learning saw mechanics though [emoji15][emoji23]
Lots of good small saws out there.
If I had to buy a cheap second hander, be a bit safer to get it from here.
The above posts, arbtrader or ask spud on here.
Good luck
