Bleeding up a 540

Crack the nut marked red in picture and normally there is a lift pump lever where the blue arrow is, work this till it draws fuel through the filter then shut the nut and crack the injector furthest from the inlet and crank it over in short bursts so as not to overheat the starter till you get fuel through then she should fire up

Reckon my lift pumps shot, nothing happening, put an electric inline pump on the pipe and it fired up, it's what Sunday's were made for, cursing at machines and getting covered in diesel!

reckon my  lift pump is shot too at that rate as i bought a 'cheap' kubota diesel powered chipper (please don't ask,  fools and their money LOL!!!) recently and i can't gett'her to run either.  I'll try the inline leccy pump test and see what happens.  Oddly enuf i want an A540 next time round.
