That seems like a good guess from the smell. I can’t find any pictures of it’s timber on line to confirm. Only thing is that it only seems to grow in Australia and is considered vulnerable so I wouldn’t expect it to be logged for pallets?

Think I have met this stuff before. At first glance thought it was some ash but then got this stink when machining it and the grain was to tight to be ash. Cant for the life of me remember what it was though.

It's not idigo. Used a fair bit of that for windows and doors and it's more orange in colour and not especially heavy
