Does anyone have any tips for recovering from (proper) flu? The fever has gone now but I feel incredibly weak and I'm struggling to get even 2500kcal down in a day. I'm barely hungry and I'm taking a long time to digest what I do eat. I need to get back to normality as I feel about 85 years old at the moment. Even getting a barrow of firewood in this evening wiped me out.

Remember with squats there is loads of different ways to perform it. Do what suits you best/ best stability/range of motion/form etc. Everyone has different hip/leg/back structures. The way that the 20 stone shredded guy with legs like waists does it may not be best for you. Add weight gradually. Experiment with narrow-wider stances, bar high-low on the back, toes pointing straight-angled etc

I’m not looking to get huge or anything but would like to remove the beer belly (not that I drink and it’s not that bad!)
And thinking that good all round extra strength will only be a good thing.

Had proper flu twice. Last time being the worst. It took about 4 weeks to get back to normal. Eat right (as well as is possible anyway I didn’t feel like eating for a couple of weeks) and lots of sleep.
I started to come out the other side when I started eating again if that makes sense

The two examples above are very good for hamstring recruitment.If deadlifting put your toes on little weight plates(2kg ones work for me) and deadlift down to shin level-dont put the weight down.

Raising your toes will instantly put more strain on the back on your legs ultimatley recruiting more muscle fibres in your hams and glutes.

Its been proven the hams and glutes have more type 2 fast twitch fibres and respond to heavier weight,that doesnt mean to say you can go straight in to heavy weight on these movements.

Warm up sets will be required and as with all other exercises good form and slow definate movement patterns must be utilized.Control the weight with a brisk lifting and a slower lowering.

Strict form on deads-no back rounding.

Keep up the good work stephen

You will see the benefits with time and consistency mate

I dont bench press but i bench with dumbells,my PB is 2x45kgs dbells for 8 reps.

Im a slow twitch guy so my weights are never gonna be big and impressive.

But heres a thought

You have 2 guys

First guy benches 100kg for 10 reps 

2nd guy benches 75kg for 20 reps

Whos strongest?

Answer is neither of the them

Neither one could do what the other did..

Lookin forward to reading about fast twitch guys bench numbers..

Big j--'Id wager you can push some serious weight..
