How much should I pay my office man

im just interested to know what you guys pay your secretary/ go to person?

 

im thinking about £10per hour?

I buy mine a Chinese on Saturday nights but she's not overly efficient if I'm honest

£10ph seems like a fair amount if it's just phones and basic office like stuff I'd say more if that extends in to bringing in clients etc

Depends how much work they are actually doing?  Just answering the phone or filing invoices, paperwork etc?

It's doing social media, website updates, light errands like taking equipment in for repair (petrol paid), invoicing clients, collating receipts for purchases and payments. No quoting, no chasing money (wife good at that!), standard daytime hours, nice home office to work from.  Only answering phones if I'm unavailable but usually it all goes to my mobile.  The guy I am considering is 29 with no arb quals or indeed any qualifications I don't think. But he is bright and capable and has a good manner with clients.

When you say update website so you kea just adding text or updating software etc. I'd say £10 an hour on the low side if so

If he's running your saws in for repair and anything like that you should cover his car insurance as well as fuel he needs to be on your business policy.

Just make sure he has business use on his policy and pay him 45p a mile as per hmrc guidelines? 

 

I drive all over the country for my employer And since binning the company car just have to show I have business cover annually to office admin bod.
