Whole village TPO

I kid you not, i am dealing with a client who has informed me that in 2007 a TPO was made for the entire village.  I have today obtained a copy of said TPO and its true.  There are nine separate areas and every single property has been included.  Tree species is simply listed as 'trees of whatever species'. It's the laziest TPO I have ever seen and I am amazed it was passed.  Even trees of terrible condition miles away from the highway are included.  Frankly i'm baffled.

Seems the whole village is covered by nine separate area Tpo's- not a single village Tpo. If the orders are confirmed they are effective; but sloppy and will be difficult to enforce as it is open to conjecture what is covered;  better to know the numbers, location and genera then you can tell If a tree goes missing or had work done on it. If it is not clear just makes more work later on sorting out any issues, i.e to prosecute the LA would have to prove there was definitely a tree(s) on site; not easy with such blanket orders.

Each property owner should have been informed -must go along the lines any tree in your garden is included in the order.

Area TPO's have their purpose as a short term emergency measure. Although this one harks back to the past and should be reviewed to include trees which actually merit protection, not every single tree.

Wishful thinking Edward. As you've pointed out in other posts, LA's either lack the funding to allocate resources to review these or appropriately qualified/experienced staff to do so.
