Looking at buying a Hayter Condor (or simillar?)

Hi folks, I'm looking at buying a slightly larger walk behind mower, the Hayter Condor 30" twin rotary looks like just the machine?

Really for cutting rough areas of long grass but sometimes something that more resembles a lawn, can it do both fairly well, or is there any other similar machines?

Anything to look out for on a used condor, obviously the Honda GX engine will go on forever, but how does the rest of mower hold up, ie the transmission?

Are they all hydrostatic drive or is that just the newer ones?

Also if you know of one for sale.......not afraid to travel!!

Cheers :thumbup1:

Cracking mower and still a few late models knocking about , will cut 3ft tall grass and will cut a fine lawn and leave a good finish .

I still run a Hydrostatic Condor and only replace sprockets on cutting deck and a few belts in 9 years.

The Hydrostatic gearbox is a peach to use , older models were clunk click box .

Harry the cat on e bay/here always has a few for sale .

Is yours the rotary deck? By any chance have you any photos of lawns cut with the condor? I take it the cuttings are dumped behind in a line?

Well after a long roadtrip got a rotary Condor, very impressed by it, good bit of kit. :thumbup1:

Could do with new belts, anyone got a link or part number for the single belt that goes from the engine to the first pulley? It's too worn to make out any text.
