Now we talk about youth and us being 53 ! Now last year a job came up to clear out a building ! I know what's got this to do with trees? Well I was asked to tackle the needle infested situation and was given a month to tackle the job.

I filled and used 15 (12) yard skips ! I asked my son who was 22 to help his old man ! On the last day my son shouts out for heavens sake slow down ! You blow a bloody fuse!

We did the job in 4 days . The contents of the skips were 500 porcelain wash basins, 300 solid oak doors which weighed a ton each heavy was not the word I can print. There was 150 fibre glass baths, 1 skip was full of taps , so u can imagine the quantity to fill a skip.

We had over 600 broken double glazed units which I chopped up with a Stihl saw.

Point I am getting I deem myself reasonable fit, and age isn't in my mind a issue, yes I might be slow for a tree surgeon, but I intend to do my tickets and work as a grounds man. Come rain, snow or shine I will work. What ever the tree surgeon drops I will chip it .

This is a shame as our problem is not finding people with experience but finding people who are reliable and can follow instructions and be left on their own to complete a job without my phone ringing every ten minutes. I know plenty of good lads that fit the bill. But they are all in the same boat as me. One man band and struggling to find reliable help.
