Hi all , tried in vain to get a days experience with a tree company, but flat turn down as there insurance won't allow it !

I am wondering if I could use my 10 million policy cover to use for a days experience?

How old are you Nikk? , we have met with a brick wall trying to take on a 16 yr old apprentice . It appears tree surgery and marine engineering is a no go with insurance companies .

Yes and no Billy.

It would be if I said it (and I have!), but years ago I did two weeks WE with the Oxford City Council and my mate who was a manager there had to tweak their policy before I started.

Wonder if the 53 bit is putting people off?

However some of the hardest working blokes I know are knocking or over sixty. Longevity of career is the only issue as for setting someone on at that age though especially if new to it.

Tried selling yourself as a labourer? Give me a day at fifty quid and see if I'm worth it Kind of thing.
