Mine is made from Aluminum . Are you sure its an Oregon ?

 

He linked it further up. It's the plasticy one for bent shafts.

 

Really I think a proper answer is to get yourself a used brushcutter/clearing saw like a fs 400 or husky 345 and a proper jet fit head with some decent line. It'll be so much quicker and less painful.

Think father in law has a decent strimmer which I can borrow if needs be (they live with us!) I might try 2.4mm line but if not I'll get rid

 

You need at least 4mm for brambles or , preferably a steel mulching blade .
