Best mini/micro digger - your views please

I've finally decided to buy a used mini/micro digger under 1tonne.

 

I've used many manufacturers over the years but can't really decide which one to look for.

 

I would welcome your views this please

 

Also if anyone knows any for sale or good dealers to speak to I would appreciate the advice,

First decision is, what are you looking at this class for? True 'doorway' performance to access where others can't go, or you're happy to accept slightly larger to get into the 1 tonne class where the machines are much better performing?

If size isnt your most important criteria look for seat/pod mounted joysticks, saves a lot of back ache rather than leaning forward over the levers on most micros. I know bobcat do them on their 1 ton machine and a few others have started now as well.

The digger guys I know say anything but JCB for microdiggers. I've used a hire JCB micro a few times, very rattly, jumpy and disappointing in power. The 1.5 tonne so much better in all respects, can't remember if it was a JCB or not though.

The Wacker Neuson 803 micro digger is about the best & will take some beating.

The takeuchi tb210r looks pretty good. Expanding tracks, normal joysticks, etc.

THIS, forward control levers are a PITA! Not sure there will be that many older machines with wrist rest controls(or whatever they are called).

 

Of all the machines I have used in this size class I have found them much of a muchness to be honest- the recent CAT/wacker was a strong machine.

The need is to establish what you're looking for, you could be into true doorway machines like the Kubota Kx008, or the larger one most who use these things are talking about the Bobcat E10/Doosan Dx10z in whichever colour you choose. I'd go Doosan, the Bobcat paint comes off in the rain!

I used a micro Takeuchi for a day and was constantly swearing at it. Incredibly unstable piece of kack.

Agree, forget the jcb and bobcat, although isnt doosan part of bobcat?
