Yeah ive crotch rigged some stuff just with a guy on a rope

Keeping things simple means there is less to go wrong.

Someone mentioned a rope should be the last thing to go wrong, I think it should be the first, if it is the last you could end up with a chunk of metal be it biner, pulley etc flying at you because your rope is the strongest bit of kit in the system.

Just a rope with a bowline tied round the section of wood over a crotch wes, only done it handful of times...usually when we dont have the rigging kit with us to be honest :$

But yeah minimal equipment less to go wrong mate

Does anyone rig in its most basic form ie just using a rope and the tree your in?

Plenty, often not worth bringing the full kit into the garden for a few back limbs. Its a good skill to have, and you can add friction at the top or bottom.

Three route should always be the weakest link. That way if you work to your ropes swl you should have little to worry about.

Yeah all the time. So quick and easy and saves climbing to rigging points as well as you can just lob the rope to whatever crotch you want to use. Very handy on reductions where you're moving around and in and out of branches a lot also.
